Cheesy...but nice...

Last Minute Gift Suggestions:

To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To every child, a good example.
To all, charity.
To yourself, respect.
I don't know...normally this kind of thing annoys me...but it IS X-Mas.

I thought this might be's to 2007...

1. Who was your first kiss of 2007?
I remember that I worked on New Year's Eve last year - some project HAD to be implemented before 2007 - then I think I hung out with Tom? Maybe we watched Lost? That sounds like it might be right so I'm guessing we probably had a friendly kiss at midnight.

2. Who do you think will be your last kiss of 2007?

3. What was your best vacation/trip in 2007?
Berkeley was a lot of fun and provided some needed closure; O-Town was a great time - I love my FL friends to death. I can't pick between those 2.

4. Who was your best friend through out the whole 2007?
I think I lacked a BEST-best friend this year. Maybe Tom, but we grew apart so much...Bill Morrison was great - he was there for me for my move and he's just a good guy overall. Jim and I hung out a lot this summer. I can always count on him and we have a lot of fun. Other Amy, of course - she's a constant...The past month it's been Jordan.

5. How many times did you move this year?
Once - from St Paul into MY house!

6. Did you make any new friends in the year 2007?
I did! Jim, Joanne, Alina, Terry, Cathy, Stacy, Jordan, maybe Jordan's friends (still getting to know them).

7. How many different people did you kiss in the year 2007?
Maybe 5? I had a few drunken nights.

8. Were you single or taken most of 2007?

9. Did you lose any friends in the year 2007?
I think so...Or at least I lost contact. Tara, Sam...I'd like to think we'll find some time to re-connect and still have some sort of bond.

10. Favorite tv show of 2007?
Lost, season 2; Rome, season 1; and the old stand-bys - The Office, Scrubs, Law and Order...

11. Any new additions to the family in 2007?

12. Any new tattoos in 2007?

13. Do anything you regret in 2007?
I don't think so.

14. Favorite new item in 2007?
My house!

15. How old did you turn in 2007?

16. Did you go to prom in 2007?
That would've been really, really odd.

17. Favorite memory of 2007?
Parking lot after Jim's bandy game, getting Bailey, Disney with the FL gang, meeting Jordan, State Fair...

18. Did anyone close to you die in 2007?

19. Do you think 2008 will be better than 2007?
I think so.

20. What will you be doing on new years eve?
I don't think anything. Jordan is going to a party out of town and it doesn't sound like the kind of thing I'd be comfortable with at this point so as much as I'd like to be with him...I will probably stay home.

1. What is the status of you and the last person you texted?
Jim and I are buddies.

2. What is wrong with you right now?
I have a cold. Very annoying.

3. Do you miss your first love?
Nah, I see him all the time. Other Amy makes him very happy. :)

4. When did you last cry?
This morning.

[I just realized this is a new survey...ah well, I'll keep going.]

5. Who do you hate?
El presidente

6. What do you want in your life right now?
A car that works.

7. Are you happy?
Yeah...I am. Wooo!

9. What do you smell like?
Not sure...stuffy nose.

10. Drinking?
I just drank a bottle of water + crystal light lemonade.

11. What’s your favorite thing to have on your bed?
Soft, fluffy blankets and pillows.

13. What do you wear to bed?

14. Do you tend to make relationships complicated?
Not on purpose. I think too much.

26. Whose house did you go to last night?
I was at Jordan's parents' house till about 6 and then I was at my Gramma's around 9.

27. What about the night before that?
My house.

28. Do you like anyone right now?
I Y Jordan

30. What is the last movie you watched?
Ummmm...High School Musical 2

31. What are you excited about?
Giving Payton, Lydia, and Violyt their X-mas presents

34. Who was last to touch your ass?

35. When you sleep do you dream about heroin addicts?

36. Whats on your mind right now?
Answering these increasingly silly and pointless questions.

37. Who was the last person to make you cry?
Bailey - he ran out in the street and almost got run over. I know he's not a person, but I cried.

38. Name someone whose name starts with the letter "R."

39. Do you care what others think about you?
More than I'd like to admit.

41. Do you trust people easily?

43. Do you think you'll be married in 10 years?
Hope so.

43. Will you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Yep. 99.99% sure.

44. Whats your first text in your inbox say?
On my phone, the 1st is the last one I received and it says "Thx, but I want my car downtown tomorrow. Plows, uncertain departure time, and I'm sleeping in." (coordinating car pools with my co-workers.)

45. Who was the last person you called?
I called Tom when he was on his way over to ask him to stop and get me an energy drink.

46. Who was the last missed call?

47. What's your ring tone?
Some people have the theme to "Cheers," some have the theme to "Fraggle Rock," others have "Shake That" by Eminem. It's kinda arbitrary.

48. Do you plan on moving out in the next year?

49. What were you doing at 8pm last Friday night?
I was trying to finish a project for Jordan and hurrying so we could go to dinner.

50. What happened at 10:00 am today?
I was just getting out of bed.

Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree...

...won't mean a thing, dear, if you're not here with me...

I *love* Bright Eyes' version of "Blue Christmas."

I'm feeling a little blue, I guess. I don't have anything going on till X-mas day and as much as I appreciate the quite time, it IS Christmas and being alone is not such a great feeling.

Ah well.

Ho ho ho

I'm kinda half-watching some "upllifting" X-mas special where "deserving" families are getting the X-mases of their dreams...this includes red and green walls. I can't imagine that these people dream of having X-mas ALL year so I feel a little sorry for them.

My 1st Christmas with Jordan

I got Jordan an iPod Nano for Christmas and he really likes it. It's super cute cause he was showing it off all day yesterday, but he kept taking it in and out of its original box and packaging. I love giving gifts and I'm thrilled that he is so happy :)

Yesterday we went to Alexandria for the day to spend some time with his family. Bailey stayed with Gramma which she loved (and I love her for that). It was my second time with his family...I hope it went well. I always over-analyze everything I said and did and worry that it was wrong...I want them to like me! It's stressful! Jordan thought it went well so I guess I shouldn't worry (but I can't help it...)

Anyway, it was fun. I like his family. I love my Jordan.

Tom came by for a few minutes today. The original plan was to go out to lunch, but because of the bad road conditions (stupid snow...), it took him an hour to get here and he had to get his parents' car back so it ended up being a very short visit. That's ok, though. We've grown so distant over the past year - we just don't have a lot to say to each other anymore. It was nice to see him and he was happy to see the cats, though.

The next few days...

I'm working tomorrow. I figured I may as well since Jim and Amber will be working, Jim and I are going out to lunch, it'll be laid back and quiet all day, and then I'll take Wednesday off instead.

X-mas day is the traditional Gustafson X-mas time, especially X-mas morning. My parents are coming over, my mom is making breakfast, I guess we'll hang out for a while...Later in the day I'm going to Rodia and Chris' house and I'll hang out there most of the evening, I'm sure.

So far I've gotten...
  • A chocolate fondue thing from gramma (note to self: be careful what I casually mention in front of gramma!)
  • 2 hoodies from Jordan (one from Old Navy and one from Victoria's Secret)
  • Some lotion from Jordan's family (mostly his mom, I imagine)
Phone Calls

One of my friends just called to chat. Just to chat. I guess that's what people do...but I never do so it always throws me off guard. I have to stop myself from saying, "So...WHY did you call me? Can we get to the point, please?" I managed to stop myself and it was a nice chat so I guess it's an ok tradition...

So I can update my new blog via email, eh?

We'll see about that...

I feel like writing so either way...

I'm at work. I got distracted this morning. Lots to do that I didn't really need to do, but I did

Here's the quick re-cap of my birthday weekend:

Saturday: Had to be at work by 8 for my last install of the year; Julie dropped me off at Jordan's house; Jordan and I met my parents at the Texas Roadhouse for lunch; we went home and took a nap; Jordan's brother Titus, Other Amy, Mike, Bill May, and Bill May's new friend Ryan came over.

Sunday: Slept till 1 (off and on); dragged a hungover Jordan out of bed and to my gramma's for dinner; ate ham and such w/ Gramma; Jordan napped for a long time on the couch while Gramma and I watched the news and cartoons; went to Target on the way home to get cat food, dishwasher soap, a shovel, and a new garbage can; cleaned out all the garbage from my kitchen; finished making our X-mas stockings; and went to bed...

...and now I'm 27.

I'm a little nervous about my doctor's appointment yesterday. I don't like hearing, "I think we should get some blood from you." I feel totally healthy, but there are always little things...and potentially bigger things...Jordan was busy taking his Civ Pro final and then partying with his school friends to talk about it yesterday and too busy doing something today to talk about it.

Not that it's his job to listen to me just because I'm a little scared about something...

Figuring out the dynamics of a new relationship is weird.

Hmmmm. I feel funny.

I think the word to describe my current state of being is "groggy." I can't seem to wake up today. I was feeling pretty good, but then I went to the doctor for my yearly exam/physical and my doctor thought I should get some blood work done so she sent me down to the lab where they proceeded to suck the life right out of me (i.e. a couple vials of blood...) It left me feeling "woozy," a little nauseated, and light-headed. I took the rest of the day off work...

I'm 27 now. It was a nice birthday weekend...I got to see and/or talk to most of my favorite people and spend lots of time with Jordan.

? mind is blank. I'm going to watch some mindless television now...

Me, my house, my Jordan, my life

I decided to work from home today - I have to go to work for an implementation tomorrow morning at 7-freaking-AM so I think it's justified.

It hasn't been a terribly productive day. Jordan slept over, we got out of bed around 9, I finally set up my PC (I thought there was X-mas music on it - there isn't), I paid my bills and got some work stuff done while Jordan studied his Civ Pro and ate pizza...

Now I'm sitting on my floor downstairs, Bailey is chewing on a bone, Jordan is studying.

It's a nice, uneventful, quiet kind of day.

My New Blog

It's Time...For a Change

I have a new blog and you are looking at it. I like this site's format - its clean and simple and doesn't have ads everywhere.

I had a hectic day - big project implementation/check-out at work. It was chaotic and there was a lot to do and not enough time to do it, but it ultimately went very well. I'm filled with relief, exhaustion, and a brain with the consistency of soup.

(And I'm happy!)

I just realized that I'm using the blog-style I used 3 years ago - "headings" and text or whatever...

And now I just realized that is not interesting at all.

This Game Called Life

I like this:

I'm not very good
At this Game called Life
For I've not learned to see children crying
Without feeling pain
For I've not learned to watch animals destroyed
Without wondering why
For I've not yet met a king or a celebrity
That I would bow down to
Or a man so insignificant
That I would use for a stepping-stone
For I've not learned to be a 'yes man'
To narrow minded bosses
Who quote rules without reason
And I've not learned to manipulate
The feelings of others
To be used for my own advantages
Then cast aside as I see fit
No, I'm not very good
At this Game called Life
And if everything goes well
Maybe I never will be."
